Content Advisory

This production contains strong language and themes including antisemitism, racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of prejudice and harmful idealogies. There will be language and moments that are not appropriate outside of this artistic context.

Falls for Jodie is a historical reimagining of a real individual whose views, as depicted in this play, reflect attitudes that existed in 1980s America. The language and perspectives presented are intentionally preserved to authentically represent the character and the time period. Altering them would diminish the integrity of the story and the reality it seeks to examine.

While rooted in the past, this play remains relevant today. Many of the beliefs and systems reflected in this work have not disappeared, and we believe it is important to confront them honestly rather than soften or obscure them.

We also want to acknowledge that audiences have agency in their experience. If at any point you feel the need to step out, you are welcome to do so. At the same time, we hope you are able to stay, engage with the work, and be part of the conversation it invites.

The views expressed by characters in this production do not represent those of the actors, Lightswitch Theatre, or the Gunnison Arts Center.

Everyone is invited to a post-show dialogue and conversation beginning five minutes after the performance concludes.
